Time to Take My Safety and Security Into My Own Hands

June 6th, 2011

I came home on a lunch break a couple weeks ago and saw that my diamond necklace which had been given to me for a Christmas gift was no longer over the bathroom sink where I had left it the night before. I have always left my jewelry in the same location thus I knew something wasn’t right.

I after searching franticly for several hours without luck, I realized that there was clearly some other items of jewelry missing. The panic really set in when I realized that the lock on my back door had been tampered with. I had been horrified by the concept that someone had been in my home that morning. I called the local police, who arrived on the scene and made a written report. Unfortunately I felt no safer then I had before they came. They explained that there have been multiple break-ins and home invasions inside our community during a few months. They didn’t seem to have any leads or evidence pointing them in the direction of the culprits.

After many sleepless nights worrying whether these people or person might or might not return to my house again I made the decision the time had come to take my safety and peace of mind into my own hands. I spoke to many of my neighbors and friends about what had happened and found more than a few of them had recently installed some sort of hidden camera devices in their own homes.

I spent a lot of time researching home security camera’s and alarm systems, I even had a well known alarm company come out and give me a quote of what it might cost me to have them monitor my house. Unfortunately that it was more than outside of my budget. I had been feeling pretty defeated and out of options when a friend of mine sent me a url to a site where she’d recently got a new hidden camera for both her back and front doors.

It didn’t take long for me to find just what I wanted for my very own home. I purchased a 4 Channel Wired USB DVR Surveillance System. It was simple to install and connected to my home computer. I mounted one at the front door, another pointed at the back door, one in the overall living space of my home and I even put one in my bedroom. I should say also bought a separate idden vanity mirror for my bathroom!

Luckily I haven’t had any more break-ins since the last one, but I do sleep so much better because I know I’m doing whatever i can to safeguard myself and my home. So I just wanted to share my story and say thank you to my good friend that sent me that link and to the folks at www.lethalsystems.com  who helped me find that secure feeling I had been missing. Many thanks.

Why I Bought A Nanny Spy Camera

June 2nd, 2011

After reading a very disturbing article online recently I stared to consider the benefits of having a  “nanny cam” in my own home. Some people might find the use of hidden cameras an invasion of privacy. I know that before I did the research and started reading endless stories of abuse and neglect. I found the idea of a hidden camera in my house disturbing. After all, I felt safe with the choices I had made when it came to the people I allowed to care for my children.

One of the stories that really caught my attention was that of a single mother of twins. Although she would have loved to stay home with brand new babies, she like many of us had to return to work in order to care for her new family. She had installed a Nanny cam so she could check in on her sons after she went back to work. She had been home with the twins, born prematurely, for several months before returning to work.

The camera was motion-activated, disguised as a clock on the mantel and it captured the shocking images. The recording covered a span of five to seven hours of the day, from the time the family came downstairs to breakfast. She had hired this woman based on a great face to face interview and several wonderful references. She thought she could trust her. It wasn’t long after setting up the camera that she was faced with the horrifying fact that you never really know what a person is capable of. This Nanny was caught hanging these little boys upside down by their feet, tossing them on the couch like rag dolls, and leaving them unattended several times.

The thought alone of leaving my children with someone who may be capable of something like that or worse scared me to death. After talking with countless concerned parents on the subject I have found that many of them have turned to Nanny Cams a way of protecting their children when they cannot physically be there themselves.

This is when my search for the perfect camera began. It didn’t take me long to find the perfect fit for my family. The Desk Top Speakers Hidden Camera I purchased online at http://www.lethalsystems.com/has really put my mind at ease. The fully functional 2-piece speaker system works with PC’s, iPods, MP3player, CD and DVD players. Includes easy power and volume controls with headphone output jack. AC/DC adapter included.

Within a matter of minutes I had installed the camera and was able see what was happening in my living room while wasn’t there. It was simple to set up, and even easier to use. Although the disturbing stories that led me to this purchase still haunt me to this day, I feel much more confident in my choices when it comes to the people I hire to care for my children every day. Together with careful screening and a thorough background check, my nanny cam has made leaving my children with a sitter much easier.
